LAKEWOOD - The Lakewood Family YMCA is offering three different tennis camps this summer from July 7- 23.
The tots camp is for children ages 4-6 and basic tennis skills are taught, but the emphasis is on fun games to develop a love for the sport. It runs Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9-9:30 a.m. Children can register for a week or all three weeks. The cost is $15 for members and $25 for potential members.
The Youth Camp runs from 9-10:15 a.m. Monday-Thursday and under the direction of coaches Jamie Sposato, Tom Anderson and James Getty. Players must have some tennis experience and the camp focus on fundamentals, games and drills. The entry fee is $55 for members and $75 for non-members.
The High School Camp features the top players in the area and runs from Monday-Thursday from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The camp focuses on drills, conditioning and competitive play.
On Thursday following play, lunch and awards are presented. The camp is for intermediate to advanced high school players with the cost being $85 per week for members and $110 for non-members.
