Rosemary E. Johnson, 89, of 3639 Lind-N Johnson Lane, Bemus Point, died Thursday, June 26, 2014, in Tanglewood Manor.
She was born Feb, 4, 1925, in Galesburg, Ill., a daughter of the late Gustaf and Florence Anderson Lundeen.
She was a graduate of Knox College, Galesburg, Ill, with a bachelor's degree in music.
She was a member of Zion Covenant Church for over 50 years. She participated in many ministries of the church including choir member, director and accompanist, Ladies Aide, Sunday school teacher and Dorcus Society.
Music was a big part of her life having taught private piano lessons, playing piano for various groups and soloists and putting on concerts with longtime friend Russell Chall. She enjoyed the many years spent at her home on Chautauqua Lake.
Surviving are two sons: Bruce (Nancy) Johnson and Gregory (Grace) Johnson, both of Jamestown; eight grandchildren: Seth (Cindy) Johnson of Olean, Anneli Johnson of China and Cael, Asa, Thaddeus, Tage, Kiah and Abigail Johnson, all of Jamestown; and two great-grandsons: Landon and Micah Johnson.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Eldon H. Johnson, whom she married Sept. 27, 1952, and who died Sept. 4, 2013; twin granddaughters: Sarah and Linnea Johnson; four brothers: Howard, Robert, Kenneth and Richard Lundeen; and two sisters: Lois and Dorothy Clausen.
The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Monday in Zion Covenant Church. The Rev. Rick Miller will officiate.
Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. Monday in the church.
