KENNEDY - The first summer concert hosted by Kennedy Pride was held recently in Hallquist Park.
Local duo Scroggins, consisting of Ken Mesel on guitar and lead vocals and Bob Swanson on bass and harmony, played some of their favorite tunes to kick off the summer. They are fast becoming popular at many local venues.
While the threatening skies held down the attendance, those who came enjoyed the music and banter between the performers. Kennedy Pride had refreshments for sale that matched the spirit of the evening. Mesel said that they enjoy being able to perform in Hallquist Park.

He lives across the street, and has seen how much effort the members of Kennedy Pride have put into turning a weedy field into a beautiful park for the community. Being able to perform in Hallquist Park is their way of saying thank you. Bringing a lawn chair and listening to some good music is one of the fine traditions for a summer evening.
