Joseph ''Joe'' Roselle, 86, of Wingate, N.C., formerly of Jamestown, N.Y., died Wednesday, June 18, 2014, in Hospice of Union County, Monroe, N.C.
Joe was born April 1, 1928, in Jamestown, N.Y., the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Parasiliti) Roselle.
Joe had been employed at Curtis Machine and Crescent Tool Company while living in Jamestown. He moved to Monroe, N.C., when Crescent Tool closed in Jamestown, to continue working for Cooper Industries.
He was an avid golfer at Chautauqua Golf Club and Monroe Country Club.
Joe was the lightweight champion boxer of the Jamestown Boys Club. He earned the right to fight in the Golden Gloves finals at Buffalo Memorial Auditorium.
He will be remembered for his winning personality. He loved to make new friends and spend time with family. He was proud of his grandchildren's sports achievements and their career pursuits.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Olsen Roselle; sisters: Sara Messina and Grace Morrison; brothers: Philip and Ross Roselle.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen (Tom) Lee and son, Mark (Selena) Roselle, both of Atlanta, Ga.; stepson, Leroy (Joann) Darling of Sugar Grove; grandchildren: David (Erica) Lee, Michelle (Cory) White, Michael, Brian, Stephanie and Matthew Lee, Ashley, Anthony, Gina and Mark Roselle and Shari Bowers; great-grandchildren: Aaran and Zachary Lee and Olivia White; his brother, Jim (Kathleen) Roselle and his sister, Anna Paterniti, both of Jamestown.
A memorial service will be held in Jamestown at the convenience of the family.
