Prendergast Library will offer a single-session Introduction to 3D Printing from 1-2:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, July 2 and July 23.
Each session taught by Learning Lab Technician Jesse Pardue will contain information about the history, mechanics and applications of the expanding field of 3D printing.
Those attending will learn the fundamentals of object manipulation in MakerWare as well as printing on a Makerbot Replicator 2. There are no prerequisites for attendance, and participants at any level of familiarity with the technology are welcome.
Learning Lab Technician Jesse Pardue helps Rindy Gifford of Jamestown set the clock on her device. Both classes and individual technology assistance will be available at Prendergast Library during July.
Pardue will also offer Introduction to Microsoft Office, a four-part series designed for beginners, from 1-2:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, July 7, 9, 14 and 16. Instruction focuses on how to create simple spreadsheets and documents for personal or business use.
One-on-one technology assistance with devices such as tablets and computers is also available between 1 and 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
No registration is required for the 3D printing demonstration, but people are asked to sign up for the Microsoft Office class and make an appointment for individual technology help.
