A sudden outbreak of stormy weather sent one tree plunging into the side of a city home Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 4:35 p.m., George and Jeannine Armele were inside their 50 Stewart Ave. residence when they heard a loud crash from the backyard.
A towering tree had apparently succumbed to heavy winds and fell onto the home, causing minor damage to the gutters, upstairs windows and siding.

George Armele said he was sad to see the tree go, stating that it aided in reducing floodwaters by absorbing runoff water.
