JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Ruben Vargas, 34, of Jamestown was charged Sunday with unnecessary noise and resisting arrest. At 3 a.m., officers were investigating an incident in the area of East Second and Cheney streets, when Vargas came out of his home and started yelling at them. Vargas refused to stop yelling even after officers told him to quiet down and return to his home. When told he was under arrest, Vargas attempted to flee. He became physically combative when placed under arrest. He was transported to city jail without further incident, and later remanded to the county jail in lieu of bail.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
CHAUTAUQUA-Kristen M. Barmore-Brooks, 40, of Mayville was charged Sunday with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment. At 11 p.m., deputies responded to an address on South Erie Street in Mayville. Investigation led to Barmore-Brooks being charged after an alleged altercation with a youth. She was committed to the county jail in lieu of bail.
