A 57-year-old Jamestown man crashed into a tree across from Fletcher Elementary School Friday night.
Police received a call at 9:03 p.m. of a 2002 Jeep Liberty crashing into a tree. According to Thomas Shea, Jamestown police officer, the Jeep was going east down Cole Avenue. After failing to keep right, the vehicle drove over the curb and crashed into the tree before bouncing back 15 feet.
Mark Larson, the driver of the Jeep, was admitted to the WCA Hospital for head, back and neck injuries. While at the hospital, he allegedly told police he blacked out. He was arrested for speeding, failure to keep right and driving while intoxicated. Jamestown Police took some blood samples to send to the state police in Olean. The results won't be known for a couple of weeks.
