Bring your lawn chair, blanket or park your vehicle close to Allen Park Wednesday to enjoy the city's free concert series.
The Jamestown High School Concert Band under the direction of Meghan Murray will start the musical series at 7 p.m. Murray said the school band, which usually starts the summer concert series, will focus on Italian heritage music during the first concert.
Additional concerts provided by the Jamestown Municipal Band will start at 7 p.m. on June 25 and continue through July 30. Rick Lundquist, Jamestown Municipal Band director, said the band will be performing for their 61st year. He said their first concert will feature a lot of Italian heritage music as well. Also, there will be the St. James Italian Heritage Dance Club performing during intermission. Also, other concerts will feature an intermission featuring a story time and Scandinavian dancers. Lundquist said the band will also have patriotic and children-themed concert nights during the series. He said there are 50 members in the band.

"There tunes you know played by your friends and neighbors," he said.
Jamestown Mayor Sam Teresi said a lot of people work together to put on the concert series from the sponsors to city employees to the musicians.
"A lot of folks are involved in making a terrific Jamestown tradition continue," he said. "The musicians are great folks ... that love to play music."

The Jamestown Municipal Band has performed in Allen Park, with musical events being held annually since the construction of the bandshell in 1966.
In addition to funding provided annually by the city, thee concerts are made available free to the public through the support of the following: Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, The United Arts Appeal of Chautauqua County Projects Pool Grant Program, Allen Park Women's Club, Local 134, American Federation of Musicians, Scandinavian Studies Program, The Resource Center, AJ's Texas Hots, Fessenden, Laumer & DeAngelo, Lind Funeral Home, Raffa & Associates; Salon 1 and Wegmans.
As in previous years, members of the Allen Park Women's Club will continue their tradition of providing coffee, fudge and other baked goods during the concerts.
