CAP Active During Memorial Day Weekend

June 5, 2014
Post-Journal

The Jamestown Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol has been very active recently. They attended a ceremony at Soldiers Circle in Lake View Cemetery to honor our veterans. That was followed by helping, along with many other citizens and veterans, to place approximately 3,000 flags on the veterans' graves. The cadets were very reverent as they saw all the graves and names of our country's heroes and enjoyed talking with other veterans and Blue Star Mothers. On Memorial Day Weekend, the squadron welcomed 27 members from the Royal Canadian Air Cadets and trained together at the Jamestown Airport. They worked on emergency services and ground search/rescue training and other joint activities. Both squadrons marched in the Lakewood Memorial Day parade and observed the ceremony at Sunset Cemetery.
