FLUVANNA - Those interested in the organizational of a historical society of Fluvanna met recently in the Fluvanna Community Church.
The group, known as the Fluvanna Community Historical Society, held its second official meeting. Moderator Lacey Wilson welcomed all to the meeting and distributed an agenda sheet. All those present had the opportunity to introduce themselves. The historical group will hold a monthly meeting on the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. Interested people and new members are welcome.
Attending the recent meeting was a delegation of people from the Valley Historical Society in Sinclairville. Present for the evening discussion were Larry Barmore, who serves as the vice president, Susan Sipos who serves as the program coordinator and computer person, Diane Shaw who serves as one of the curators of the museum, and John Sipos who serves as the treasurer of the Valley Historical Society. Sipos is also the village of Cassadaga historian. At the meeting, Sipos brought all of his many notebooks of records dating back 25 years of the Valley Historical Society. Sipos had listed some suggestions for organizational purposes. Mrs. Sipos talked about the annual quilt shows in Sinclairville and the Facebook page. Shaw spoke of the items in the museum. Barmore spoke of some of this activities and events of the Valley Historical Society. Following the meeting and discussion, refreshments were provided by Dottie Muzzy.

The next meeting of the group will on Monday, June 16, at 7 p.m. All are welcome.
