GERRY - The Memorial Day weekend annual parade was held on Sunday afternoon in Gerry at 2 p.m. The parade, which included many participants, followed the route from the Gerry Rodeo Grounds along route 60 to the Gerry Cemetery. Following the parade, a memorial service was held at the cemetery. The day was sunny and bright with temperatures in the 70s. Many people lined the parade route to greet those in the parade. One of the vehicles represented the Valley Historical Society of Sinclairville. The car, driven by society treasurer John Sipos, was decorated patriotically with many flags and banners. Riding along were two other members of the society, Susan Sipos and Diane Shaw. Mrs. Sipos and Ms. Shaw also represented the Jamestown Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The parade honored and remembered those who have served our country and the many who have fallen in their fight to preserve our freedom.
