CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
Jeremy G. R. Dossey, 26, of Jamestown, was charged with driving while intoxicated, having a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher and failure to obey a stop sign. At approximately 2:24 a.m. Saturday, sheriff's deputies observed a vehicle pass through the intersection of Newland Avenue and Maple Street without stopping. The vehicle was stopped, and the operator was identified as Dossey - who was found to be intoxicated. Dossey will answer the charges in the Jamestown City Court at a later date.
Brian E. Truax II, 30, of Jamestown, was charged following an incident which took place Saturday. At approximately 3:05 a.m., deputies stopped a car on Sixth Street. Upon investigation, the driver, Truax, was found to be intoxicated. He was also found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana. A record check showed Truax had a conviction for driving while intoxicated within the past 10 years, making the incident a felony. He was charged with improper turn, no turn signal, felony DWI and unlawful possession of marijuana. Truax was issued tickets to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.
Andrew W. Bankowski, 61, of Buffalo, was charged with driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop Sunday morning. At approximately 12:26 a.m., Bankowski was charged during an Operation Crackdown stationary road check on Routes 5 and 20 in the Town of Hanover. Sheriff's deputies completed a further investigation roadside after initial contact with Bankowski, during which he was found to be operating his vehicle while intoxicated. He was released and will appear in court at a later date.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
Dylan M. Abbey, 21, of Lakewood, received several charges stemming from an incident Saturday. At approximately 3:13 p.m., Abbey was charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. After a brief investigation by officers, which uncovered that Abbey was in possession of an amount of heroin and a hypodermic needle, Abbey was taken into custody and transported to Lakewood-Busti police station for processing. He was issued an appearance ticket and transferred to the custody of Jamestown Police Department due to having warrants outside of the city.
Dawn D. Maurer, of Fair Lawn, N.J., was charged with second-degree harassment for allegedly injuring a female, and attempting to take her phone when she tried to call the police. Maurer was issued a ticket to appear in the Busti Town Court at a later date.
