Veterans Share Stories At Emeritus

Veterans living at Emeritus at Lakewood had an opportunity to reminisce about their time spent in service to their country. On Thursday, a dozen veterans shared personal stories and experiences during the time periods of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. In front, from left, are: Pershing Griffith, a Marine Corps veteran of World War II; Roger Anderson, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; Gloria Bicheler, who was a nurse during World War II, and is holding a picture of herself from that era; John Bennet, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II; John Nelson, a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War; and George Schultz, a U.S. Army field artillery veteran of World War II. In back, from left, are: George Gustafson, a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War; Sal Gaeta, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War; Peter Louis Coggiola, a veteran of the U.S. Army's 17th Airborne Division in World War II; Hap Hazard, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War; Charles Walsh, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; and Art Wiles, a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
