CLYMER - The former Countertop Solutions Inc., located at 593 Maple Ave., in Clymer, has recently been purchased by Cherrie Lictus, owner of East Main Elite Designs, who is a longtime resident of Clymer. Lictus has operated her interior design business for the past 10 years, and has collaborated with builders and Countertop Solutions on several projects. As the new owner, she will join the team as president of CounterAct Inc.
Over the past 14 years, Dan McAfoose built Countertop Solutions as a company based on quality and customer service with a solid base of kitchen/bath designers, dealers and builders. He has maintained a group of 18 highly skilled employees, who will continue their current positions with CounterAct Inc. McAfoose feels that he is turning this business over to capable hands that will continue and build on past success.
"I look forward to continued growth, based on these fundamentals and dedication to the craft," Lictus said. "I'm gratified that the core of this business has highly skilled employees, and excited to continue offering high quality surfaces, while maintaining the business in my hometown community. I would like to thank the Small Business Development Center at JCC, Five Star Bank and Chautauqua County IDA for their assistance in making this happen."

"Cherrie has a unique mix of design skills, pragmatism, and energy that should help grow the business and provide important manufacturing jobs in a small town. Kudos goes to the Chautauqua County IDA and Five Star Bank for recognizing and supporting the opportunity to keep this company in New York state."
