Mark A. Hallberg, 49, of Jamestown, passed away Thursday (May 22, 2014), in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.
A lifelong area resident, he was born Dec. 29, 1964, in Jamestown, the son of the late Lester H. and Janet Love Hallberg.
Mark was a graduate of Maple Grove High School, and was most recently was employed by The Post-Journal. In earlier years, he enjoyed farming and raising pigs and cows while living in Ellery.
He was a member of the Ellery Center Volunteer Fire Department, and attended the Family Church in Jamestown. Mark enjoyed gardening, cooking, making homemade jerky, model trucks and most of all spending time with his family and dog, "Cookie." He will be sadly missed by his family and "Cookie."
Surviving are his wife, Lisa R. Saullo Hallberg, whom he married Oct. 10, 1992, in the town of Ellery; a son, Jordan L. Hallberg of Jamestown; an extended son, Gioachino Donisi of Jamestown; four sisters: Nancy Bodel of Kennedy, Susan (Ellis) Troxell of Falconer, Nina France (Dale Courtney) of Mayville, Tami Kellogg-Taha (Kelly) of North Port, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1995; his mother in 1987; and a sister, Linda M. Danielson in 2005.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt, chaplain of Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation, will officiate. Burial will be in Bemus Point Cemetery.
Friends and family will received by the family one hour prior to the funeral service Saturday in the funeral home.
