The Jamestown Jammers will be holding a luncheon, featuring players and the coaching staff on Thursday, June 12 at the Jamestown Gateway Train Station.
Fans will have the opportunity to interact, eat lunch with the team, and celebrate the start of another New York-Penn League season.
Doors will open at 11:30 a.m., and the event is expected to last until around 1 p.m. A train with the players and coaching staff will be arriving at the station around 12:05 p.m. Tickets for the event are $12 and must be purchased in advance by calling the Jammers front office at 664-0915.
The Jammers' coaching staff features manager Brian Esposito, hitting coach Orlando Merced, pitching coach Mark DiFelice, athletic trainer Dominic Cappozzo and player-coach Anthony Norman.
Esposito began his career in the NY-P League with the Lowell Spinners in 2000, and made appearances for both the St. Louis Cardinals (2007), and Houston Astros (2010). Over the course of 1,391 games, Merced batted .277, with 103 home runs, while splitting time between right field and first base. DiFelice played parts of three seasons for the Milwaukee Brewers, before finishing up his career in 2011. Cappozzo and Norman are returning members from the Jammers' 2013 staff, and were both integral parts in the Jammers' playoff run.
"The Jamestown Jammers look forward to giving avid Jammers fans the chance to meet and interact with this year's distinguished coaching staff and players. We are also pleased to have this luncheon take place at the train station, which is a historic location in downtown Jamestown," said Jammers General Manager Matt Drayer.
