CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
NORTH HARMONY - Mary E. Hetrick, 26, of Jamestown was charged Tuesday with speed not reasonable and prudent. At approximately 8:17 p.m., deputies responded with fire department crews to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Panama-Stedman Road in North Harmony. Investigation revealed that Hetrick was traveling southbound on Panama-Stedman Road when she failed to reduce speed on a curve. She lost control and went onto the shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle came back onto the pavement, crossed over the center and rolled over an embankment on the east side. The vehicle came to rest on its roof. Hetrick and her three-year-old son were taken to WCA Hospital for minor injuries. The child was taken to Buffalo Women and Children's Hospital as a precaution. Hetrick will appear in North Harmony Court at a later date.
ELLINGTON - Xavier A. Berrios, 20, of Dunkirk; Dontae N. Clarke, 20, of Brooklyn; Michael J. Donaldson, 20, of Dunkirk; and Patrick J. Lamattina, 19, of Dunkirk were charged Saturday with unlawful possession of alcohol under 21. At approximately 12:53 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on 28th Creek Road in Ellington. Investigation determined that the four passengers had been consuming alcohol and were in possession of alcoholic beverages. They will appear in Ellington Court at a later date. The female driver was found to have been drinking and was only ticketed for a stop sign violation.
ELLINGTON - Franklin G. Brown, 20, of Salamanca; Jackson R. John, 20, of Great Valley; and Tad P. Battie, 18, of Salamanca were charged Saturday with unlawful possession of alcohol. At approximately 2:07 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on West Main Street in Ellington after observing it fail to signal a turn coming off of 28th Creek Road. A quantity of alcoholic beverages were observed in the vehicle and three passengers admitted ownership and having consumed alcohol. All will appear in Ellington Court at a later date.
FALCONER - Devin W. Powell, 22, of Youngsville, Pa., was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated, blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher, unlicensed operator and driving without headlights. At approximately 3:29 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on West Main Street in Falconer for operating without headlights. Investigation revealed that the driver - Powell - was intoxicated. He will appear in Ellicott Court at a later date.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
James P. Voorhees, 41, of Jamestown was charged Tuesday with endangering the welfare of a child. Shirley M. Lanphere, 38, of Jamestown was charged Tuesday with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. At approximately 3:05 p.m., officers responded to an apartment at 30 Terrace Place for a domestic dispute. Neighbors had called the police to advise that they could here a male screaming at a child in the apartment. Upon arrival, officers found Voorhees and a five-year-old female in the apartment. The apartment was found to be in deplorable condition with animal feces and rotting food inside. The child's mother, Lanphere, arrived on the scene and became disorderly with officers. She grabbed the child by the arm and tried to flee. Officers advised her to stop, but she attempted to push past the officers and resist arrest. Both were taken to city jail. The Department of Development responded to the scene and condemned the apartment. Child Protective Services took placement of the child.
Carl L. Settle, 40, of Jamestown was charged Wednesday with driving while intoxicated, DWI with blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher, operating without headlamps and failure to keep right. At approximately 1:28 a.m., officers observed a vehicle operating without adequate headlamps and failing to keep on the right side of the road. After a traffic stop, it was determined that the driver - Settle - was intoxicated. He was taken to city jail and will appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.
ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT
Ivan T. Bush, 30, of Jamestown was charged Friday with second-degree aggravated harassment. It is alleged that Bush called, harassed and threatened a victim numerous times. He will appear in Ellicott Court at later date.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
Jordan T. Adams, 28, of Jamestown was charged Tuesday with petit larceny. At approximately 3:33 p.m., a warrant was issued for Adams following an investigation in a larceny at the Sears store in the Chautauqua Mall. He will appear in Busti Court at a later date.
CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
NAPOLI - Jacob G. Winship, 23, of Little Valley was charged Saturday with second-degree criminal contempt, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and trespass. At approximately 12:30 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a domestic incident on Pigeon Valley Road in Napoli. Investigation revealed that Winship violated an order of protection. He was remanded to county jail in lieu of bail. He is due back in Napoli Court at a later date.
ALLEGANY - Tyler B. Bell, 21, of Cornwall was charged Tuesday with third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief after allegedly setting off a fire extinguisher in the Francis Hall dorm at St. Bonaventure University. The extinguisher was rendered damaged and the contents were inhaled by a resident who was later transported to Olean General Hospital. Bell will appear in Allegany Court at a later date.
OLEAN - Derek S. Ertell, 24, of Olean was arrested Sunday on violation of probation warrant issued out of Olean Court. He was turned over to the Olean Police to await arraignment.
ASHFORD - David Call Jr., 42, of Springville was charged on May 6 with driving while intoxicated third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failure to keep right and refusal to submit a breath test following an investigation into a vehicle striking a guard rail on Miller Road in Ashford. Call will appear in Ashford Court at a later date.
COLDSPRING - Kelly M. Jackson, 41, of East Otto was charged Friday with driving while intoxicated, DWI with blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher and failure to keep right after a traffic stop on Tyler Whitmore Road in Coldspring. She is due back in Coldspring Court at a later date.
COLDSPRING - David L. Bobseine, 70, of Gowanda was charged Thursday with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with blood alcohol content of .18 percent or higher and failure to keep right after a traffic stop on Route 394 on Coldspring. He is due back in Coldspring Court at a later date.

NORTH HARMONY - Heather Valdez, 37, of Crescent City, Fla. was charged Thursday with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle. Benny Valdez, 37, of Crescent City, Fla. was charged Thursday with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of marijuana, consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, unlicensed operator and aggravated unlicensed operation. State Police were conducting a traffic road check Route 394 in North Harmony, when a vehicle was observed stopping north of the road check. The occupants changed drivers and turned around from the road check. A patrol caught up with the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. While interviewing the driver, State Police detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A check of the vehicle produced 34 grams of marijuana, cocaine and two open cans of beer. A Department of Motor Vehicles check showed Benny Valdez to be suspended in New York. Both were placed under arrest and transported to the State Police barracks in Jamestown for processing. Heather Valdez was arraigned in North Harmony Court and committed to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $2,000 bail. Benny Valdez was also arraigned in North Harmony Court and committed to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
