FREWSBURG - The first inning set the tone for Frewsburg's first win over Falconer since the 1990s in Division 1 West softball on Monday.
The Bears scored five runs in the first inning and went on to record a 7-3 victory over Falconer.
In the big inning, Ayla Bragg drove in three runs with a single and scored on a passed ball, and Emily Hair singled in another run for the winners.
Claire Garvey worked three innings and got the win while Kaitlyn Blanchard went the final four innings to preserve the victory.
Abby Courtney went the distance for Falconer, striking out nine, walking two and giving up seven hits.
Seven different girls had hits for Frewsburg (4-6, 4-11) while Brianna McFall had a triple and a single in the loss.
BURK LEADS SWCS
SILVER CREEK - Sydney Burk recorded her highest strikeout total of the softball season for Southwestern in Division 1 West on Monday afternoon.
Burk fanned 12 and allowed a mere three hits while walking four as Southwestern (7-5) topped Silver Creek, 9-3.
The game was tied at 3-3 entering the fourth inning when the Lady Trojans scored four runs to take the lead for good.
Burk helped her own cause with two RBIs on two singles and Xiane Smith contributed two singles also for two RBIs for the winners.
Silver Creek, which lost the first meeting, 18-13, received two hits from Maddie Eggleston and one from Dariann Russo.
