JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
James Lewis, 50, has been charged with driving while intoxicated and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation following an incident that occurred Sunday. According to a police report, JPD officers were on patrol when they noticed a gray Dodge Durango, without headlights on, fail to keep right as it turned from Cherry Street onto West Third Street. During the investigation, Lewis was found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated, and with a suspended driver's license. Lewis was charged with DWI and first-degree unlicensed operation, as well as other vehicle and traffic law charges. He was transported to the city jail without incident, where he was held pending arraignment.

Miranda L. Bush, and a 17-year-old female, have been charged with petit larceny after attempting to steal merchandise from Wal-Mart at approximately 7:19 p.m. Saturday. According to a police report, the two women had collectively placed $106.12 worth of merchandise into their purses and attempted to leave the store without paying for it. The women were issued appearance tickets, and will appear in court at a later date.
