Carol Delores Jones, 88, died in her home in Troy, N.H., on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, following a brief illness.
Carol was born in Jamestown, N.Y., on June 9, 1925, the daughter of the late Albin and Anna (Anderson) Jones and sister of the late Ernest Jones, Dorothy Jones Zoellner, and Donald Jones. Carol was a graduate of Jamestown High School and Keuka College in Keuka, N.Y.
Carol had a career as a social worker in Mayville, N.Y., and Pensacola, Fla., and later became a public relations executive for the advertising firm of D'Arcy, Masius, Benton, and Bowles in their Los Angeles and New York offices. She often returned to Jamestown to partake in annual Jones family reunions, and enjoy time at Chautauqua Institution.
She will be remembered for her vibrant and intelligent personality, her wry and quick wit, her loyalty to friends and family, and her commitment to the University of Michigan's football team. Go Blue!
Carol lived life to its fullest and will be missed by her many nieces and nephews, as well as her friends and adopted family in Troy, N.H.
Funeral services will be held at Chautauqua Institution and Lake View Cemetery, with details to be announced at a later date.
