Marion S. Newhouse, 85, of 326 Delaware Ave., died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born May 6, 1928, in Buffalo, a daughter of the late John and Clara Palmer Rawson.
Following graduation from South Park High School, she received a degree from Deaconess School of Nursing in 1949.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a registered nurse by Jamestown General Hospital until its closing and later by Lutheran Social Services.
Surviving are three daughters: Nancy Newhouse of Jamestown, Bar-bara Newhouse of Atlanta, Ga., and Mary (Jeff) Halpainy of Rochester, N.Y.; two grandchildren: Marc (Rachael) Halpainy and Kristin (Chris) Halpainy, both of Rochester; a sister, Dorothy Dobbins of Stockton; her "other kids:" Ronald Bull of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Pamela Lodestro of Jamestown; and three nephews: Robert (LynDee) Dobbins, Charles Dobbins and James (Deb) Dobbins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Newhouse, whom she married Oct. 23, 1952, and who died Oct. 26, 2012.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt will officiate.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Stockton.
Friends will be received from 1-3 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
