Dale F. Range, 76, of Hoag Road, Panama, N.Y., passed away May 1, 2014, at WCA Hospital, Jamestown, N.Y.
He was born Feb. 8, 1938, at home on the family farm in Ashville, N.Y., the son of the late Clyde and Marguerite Eggleston Range.
Dale graduated from Panama Central School, in 1955. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served at Fort Benning, Ga., as an MP, where he met his wife of 51 years, Bernice. He then moved back home, and was employed at MRC until his retirement in 1995. After that he drove school bus and worked at Timber Creek Golf Course. He loved to hunt and golf, and especially loved his family.
Dale is survived by his three children: Kenneth (Gloria), Sherry, Michael (Kelly); a daughter-in-law, Lacey; eight grandchildren: Michael Joe, Raquel, Kendra, Arianna, Jordon, Connor, Peyton and Kylie; and two great-grandsons: Nathan and Cameron.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Phillips Range; his youngest son, Brian Range; and a sister Wilma (Range) Reardon.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2014, at the Spitzer Funeral Home, 8728 E. Main St., Clymer, N.Y.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kevin Hadley, pastor of the Niobe Baptist Church, officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Panama Fire Department or the Wounded Warrior Project.
