Michael A. Yuchnitz, 72, of Ashville, N.Y., died unexpectedly Friday, April 25, 2014, in Fort Pierce, Fla.
He was born March 1, 1942, in the Bronx, N.Y., the son of the late Alexander J. Yuchnitz and Elizabeth Foux Yuchnitz Hoffman.
Prior to retirement, he worked as a tool and die maker at Cummins Engine for 22 years, and previously at Arrow Tool and Die for 10 years. He was a member of the Celoron Moose, Viking Lodge and Randolph American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Gladys Bush Yuchnitz, whom he married Sept. 9, 1961; two sons: Michael R. (Kristen) Yuchnitz of Ashville, and Douglas Yuchnitz of Jamestown; a daughter, Deanna (Simon) Swatt of Youngsville, Pa.; nine grandchildren: Benjamin, Andrew, Gregory, Justine, Jenna, Jarett, Michael A., Patrick and Karianne.
He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen A. Yuchnitz, who died Jan. 29, 2014.
A celebration of Michael and Stephen's lives will be held this summer at a time to be announced.
