LAKEWOOD - The Southwestern Trojans are now 1-2 in Division 1 West baseball and 4-3 overall after taking care of league opponent Silver Creek, 21-7, at home on Thursday afternoon.
Mike Sandbloom earned the start on the mound for the Trojans and tossed four innings, giving up four runs, fanning three and walking three. Southwestern split their relief between Jared Drocy, who gave up a pair of runs and struck out two, Erik Priester, and Ben Burk, who ended the night with three strikeouts.
Burk was also solid at the plate with three hits while Hunter Peterson was 3-for-4, Noah Weinstein was 2-for-3, Priester struck a double and was 2-for-3, and Niko Pannes was 2-for-3 with a double as well.

DIVISION 2 WEST
MEREDITH LEADS WAY
RIPLEY - Tyler Meredith was the story for Chautauqua Lake (3-1, 4-2), tossing a seven-hitter with 12 strikeouts and five walks in going the distance for the second time this season in a 7-2 win over Clymer.
Brayden Wappat delivered two hits with a double and Tyler Furlow slammed a two-run home run for the Thunderbirds. Meredith helped his own cause with a double.
Evan Woods drilled three hits, one a double, and Jacob Wiggers hurled five innings in which he gave five unearned runs while walking five and striking out three for Clymer (1-2, 1-2).
PANAMA - Greg Schroeder pitched and batted Westfield to a 22-2 five-inning victory over Panama (0-4, 0-4).
Schroeder hurled a five-hitter with nine strikeouts and a walk, and had three hits, including a double, and drove in thee runs.
Westfield trailed by a 1-0 margin after an inning, but produced eight runs in the second when Nolan Hunt and Jonathan Wilson hit two-run singles for the big hits in the 15-hit attack.
Wilson had three hits with a triple and a double while driving in four runs for the winners. Wilson recorded three RBIs with two hits.
For Panama, Rick Eddy scored two runs and picked up one of the hits.
DIVISION 2 EAST
WEST VALLEY - Kyle O'Donnell drilled four hits and was the winning pitcher as Cattaraugus-Little Valley downed West Valley, 10-5.
Justin Forster closed it out for C-LV with 1 innings of work and fanned all five batters he faced.
Matt Andrews had two hits and drove in a run for the winners, who had a six-run sixth inning.
Emil Erlandson had a single and an RBI for West Valley.
ECIC DIVISION 1
''We played terrible,'' is how Jamestown High School baseball coach Dave Roehmholdt put it after the Red Raiders fell to 0-3 in the division and 0-7 overall.
Orchard Park held a 23-0 lead before settling for a 23-2 victory in a game that had 14 errors, including nine by Jamestown, at the Martin Road Complex.
Pete Weltjen had three hits, Dave Hollins and Jeff Palczewski a double and a single, Brandon Nicholson and Ryan MacCarrick two singles and Jake Woodrich a double in the 19-hit Quakers' attack.
Orchard Park put the game away early with five runs in the second inning and came back with eight runs in the third for a 13-0 cushion.
Jeff Biddle of OP went into the fifth inning with a no-hitter that was broken up by Andrew Latona's RBI single. Biddle allowed two of the four hits with eight strikeouts and five walks before Matt Wright came on a preserved the victory.
Jake Sisson added a double for the Red Raiders.
DIVISION 1 WEST
LADY TROJANS WIN
The Southwestern Lady Trojans captured an 18-13 victory over visiting Silver Creek (1-3) on Thursday afternoon to improve to 3-1 in the league.
Leading the way on the mound was winning pitcher Britta Johnson, who worked three innings, collecting four strikeouts with one walk and one earned run.
Sydney Burk hurled the last four innings for the Lady Trojans and fanned six with one walk and no earned runs.
The Southwestern offense was led by Johnson who was 3-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs.
Also contributing were Alex Sullivan with three hits, Kate Johnson, Burk and Maddie Sullivan who each had two hits, and Summer Borysoff and Maggie Burns who both had doubles.
Allison Harford suffered the loss for Silver Creek. The Lady Black Knights' offense came from Mary Jo Pearl, who had four hits and five RBIs, and Kennedy Eggleston who added three hits.
POLLINO LEADS JHS
Hannah Pollino had a big day at the plate for Jamestown High School (3-1, 3-4), drilling two home runs among her four hits and driving in six runs as the Lady Red Raiders defeated winless Maple Grove (0-5), 16-5.
Pollino led off the game with a solo home run and cracked a three-run homer in the fifth inning for the Lady Red Raiders.
Kaytlin Haines added three hits, two runs scored and a pair of steals, Kaleisha Mosley contributed two hits and two RBIs, winning pitcher Jessica Pace two singles and two RBIs and Lydia Sposato two hits and three runs scored for Jamestown.
Pace hurled a five-hitter with four walks and a strikeout. All five Maple Grove hits were by different players.
FALCONER - Abby Courtney, coming off a one-hitter earlier in the week, put together another top-flight mound performance.
Courtney twirled a five-hitter with six strikeouts and three walks as Falconer (3-2, 4-2) stopped Dunkirk (1-2 in the league), 8-6.
Courtney also slammed a two-run, third-inning home run and drove in three runs for the Lady Golden Falcons. Meghan Chase contributed a double.
Riley Drummond had two hits and Sarah Hanlon was the losing pitcher for Dunkirk, which got close with a run in the fifth only to see Falconer get another insurance run in the sixth.
Falconer took the lead for good at 7-5 in the fourth inning.
DIVISION 2 WEST
HAUSER LEADS WAY
PANAMA - Carson Hauser went the distance, allowing five hits, striking out six and walking four when Westfield topped Panama, 9-7.
Hauser also had two hits and Rachel Allen a double for Westfield.
Carly Abbate gave up six hits, striking out six and walking four in defeat. She also stroked two hits while Elle Angeletti doubled and singled, and Madalyn Bowen tripled.
EAST 2 DIVISION
CATTARAUGUS - Sara Crandall had superb performances as Cattaraugus-Little Valley (5-3) swept a doubleheader from West Valley.
Crandall threw a five-inning no-hitter with 10 strikeouts and a walk while driving in three runs in the 22-0 pasting of West Valley in the first game. In the nightcap, Crandall drove in six more runs on three hits in the 23-3 win.
In her no-hitter, Crandall's walk was the only base runner allowed. She had a double and triple in that game to help her own cause.
Molleigh Bradley delivered three hits with a double and Lexi Ploetz chased home four runs with a couple of hits for C-LV.
Crandall drilled two triples and a single in the nightcap to support freshman hurler Katlyn Navarre, who went five innings with four strikeouts and four walks in her first varsity start.
Katie Reynolds added two hits and drove in four runs for C-LV.
Ashley Pryzwara had a double for WV.
