Lois Price LaBaron, known as wife, mother, mom gram, mimi, aunt, sister, friend and teacher, died on April 17, 2014. She was 95 years of age.
A Falconer teacher for many years, she attained her education at SUNY Fredonia, Buffalo State, Geneseo and Syracuse University at Chautauqua. Her teaching career began in a one-room school at Ross Middle, N.Y., and continued for 35 years in the Falconer (N.Y.) school district. She taught first and fourth grades and went back to school for state certification to teach special education at the junior high level. Many students from Fredonia and Geneseo did their practice teaching with Mrs. LaBaron.
In 1965 the Falconer High School PTA awarded a life membership to Mrs. LaBaron. From 1954-76 she served the South Westerns Credit Union with many years as a loan officer.

Upon retiring Mrs. LaBaron was an active volunteer for the Democratic Party and was among the first to volunteer at Roger Tory Peterson Institute in the initial stages. For eight years she was a member of the Falconer School Board and was appointed to two terms to the Commission of Secondary Education of the Middle States Association.
As a member of the First Baptist Church of Falconer she taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School and served as a deaconess.
Mrs. LaBaron was preceded in death by her parents: Maynard and Dorothy Price, a brother, Murry Price, and her sister, Beverly Ferris. She is survived by her sons, Leslie LaBaron and his wife Andrea of Union Springs, N.Y., Kevin LaBaron and his wife Suzanne of Camas, Wash.; her nieces, nephews and her grandchildren: Renee, Ryan, Chad, Brandon, Doug, Logan, Alex, Shawnee, Megan and Michaela. Her granddaughter, Renee Lawrence brought special joy into Mrs. LaBaron's life and she enjoyed countless hours with great-grandchildren: Michaela and Megan.
Due to Mrs. LaBaron's love of reading and teaching a lasting memorial would be to buy a child a book.
At her request funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. No calling hours will be observed.
