SOUTH DAYTON -
Mona I. Baldwin, 81, retired shipping and receiving clerk for Carnahan's, where she worked for seven years, died Thursday, April 17, 2014, at UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa.
She was born June 23, 1932, in Duke Center, Pa., the daughter of the late Joyce and Daisy (Sommers) McGee.
Mona graduated from Otto-Eldred High School in Duke Center, Pa., and attended the Ross Mills Church of God. She enjoyed her family and grandchildren, and was known to drop some stitches knitting and sewing.
Mona lived in South Dayton, N.Y., for nine years and previously lived in Falconer, N.Y.
She is survived by a son, Howard E. (Claudette) Baldwin Jr. of South Dayton, N.Y.; three daughters: Sandy E. (Donald) Herb of South Dayton, N.Y., Louise A. (Richard) Riggs of Chazy, N.Y., and Debbie J. (Timothy) Powell of Portland, N.Y.; seven grand-children; eight great-grandchildren; her brother, Robert McGee; and two stepgrandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Baldwin Sr. on Sept. 14, 2009; five brothers: Norman, Ralph, Eugene, Lester and Fred McGee; and a sister, Charlotte Gleason.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014, at 11 a.m., at Hills Funeral Chapel, 478 Balcom Corners, South Dayton, N.Y. The Rev. R. Gordon Spiller of Portland. will officiate. Burial will be in the Villenova Cemetery in South Dayton.
Visitation will be held at the funeral chapel on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
