Loreen Ginnitti has been selected to receive the 2013 YWCA Woman of Distinction Award.
The award was established in 1994 and is awarded to a woman whose life and contributions to society have made a difference to her community and who has promoted the YWCA mission of eliminating racism, empowering women and working toward peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
The award ceremony is set for Tuesday, April 22, at the YWCA. The reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the formal presentation made at 6 p.m.
YWCA board members, pictured from left, are: Dana Corwin, Cassidy Cooney, Molly Anderson and Ida Klahn, board chairwoman. The board will present the 2013 YWCA Women of Distinction Award to Loreen Ginnitti on April 22.
Ginnitti, a retired teacher, has been a longtime supporter of the YWCA and has served on the board in several capacities, including two terms as chair and a term as secretary. In addition she has established an endowment for the YWCA at the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation and made several personal financial donations to the YWCA.
The award ceremony is open to the public, light refreshments will be served and reservations are appreciated. For reservations, call the YWCA at 326-2011.
