A Jamestown man was able to save his home from being engulfed by flames Sunday afternoon. Jamestown Fire Department responded to the fire at around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, and when they came to the scene at 24 Cutting St., they were able to quickly put it out. A fire investigator at the scene later in the day said if the home owner hadn't come home when he did, his home would have received much more extensive damage. Most of the damage to the home is water and smoke damage. As of Sunday night, the cause of the fire was still undetermined.
