SYRACUSE - Sherman (21-2) finished third in the final Class D boys basketball rankings of the New York Sportswriters Association's poll for this year.
New York Mills of Section 3 (23-1) finished first in Class D with Coleman Catholic of Section 9 (21-2) second, Moriah of Section 7 (21-2) fourth and Batavia Notre Dame of Section fifth (19-4).
Panama (15-6) was13th in Class D.
Jamestown finished ranked ninth in Class AA with Christ the King of New York City (25-6) first.
Green Tech of Section 2 (19-6) was raked eighth and Union-Endicott of Section 4 (17-5) was 11 th. Jamestown lost to Green Tech, 54-49, in the state championship game after defeating U-E, 64-63, in the semifinals.
Randolph (15-7) tied with East Rochester of Section 5 (16-4) for 20th in Class C while Silver Creek (12-9) was an honorable mention selection.
Olean (21-4) finished ranked fourth in Class B. Fredonia (16-5) and Salamanca (19-6) were honorable mention choices in Class B.
