Korin Gidley Ruff of Snellville, Ga., passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014.
She was born in New Bedford, Mass., and grew up in Northern Virginia, where she met the love of her life, Trey Ruff. They married in 2000 on Water Island in the Virgin Islands, a place of immense serenity and peace for Kori.
Kori was a loving wife and deeply devoted mother, cherished daughter, a fiercely loyal sister and a generous and thoughtful friend.
She loved playing tennis and was an energetic volunteer at her children's school, as well as the surrounding community. Kori was gifted with an artistic eye for design and a flair for organizing anything and anyone. Although she had many gifts and accomplishments, Kori's pride and joy and the centerpiece of her existence were love and devotion to her son, Chase, and daughter, Lucy. She leaves behind a legacy of love and the memory of her dazzling smile, which could light up an entire room. Kori will be forever loved and missed by her husband and their children; her parents, Linda and Chuck Gidley of St. Thomas; her sister, Karolin Gidley of Lilburn, Ga.; niece and nephew: Zoe and Kurt Suhr of Lilburn, father and mother-in-law, Ray and Anne Ruff of Lansdowne, Va.; sister-in-law, Susannah Ruff of Rockville, Md.; and nephew, Lucas Roca.
Kori was loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends across the country.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Killian Hall (908 Killian Hill Rd, Lilburn, Ga.) on Thursday, April 3, 2014.
