Carolyn I. Badgley, 83, of Falconer, passed away Tuesday (April 1, 2014), in WCA Hospital.
A lifelong area resident, she was born Aug. 3, 1930, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late John E. and Irene Tappan Swanson.
Carolyn enjoyed baking, crocheting, crafts and painting.
Surviving are two daughters: Kristine (Daniel) Marasco of Falconer, and Lynne (James) Welling of Greenhurst; five grandchildren: Daniel (Sally) Marasco, April Welling, Jeremiah (Shauna) Welling, Jacob Welling and Jennifer Badgley;three great-grandchildren: Matthew and Anthony Marasco and Silver Welling.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Badgley, whom she married March 25, 1948, in Warren, Pa., and who died April 14, 1994; two sons: Randall Badgley in 1966 and Barry Badgley in 1989; two brothers: John and Lawrence Swanson; and two sisters: Jeanette Saxton and Joyce Landon.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thurs-day in the Falconer Funeral Home. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in Stillwater Cemetery.
Memorials may be donated to the Chautauqua Blind Association or to Hospice of Chautauqua County.
