JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Jordan Hargrove, 17, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree criminal mischief on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Officers were dispatched to Myrtle at Fairfield streets for a male subject who had allegedly punched a vehicle, which caused significant damage. Officers arrived on scene and spoke to the owner of the vehicle and a witness who identified the suspect as Hargrove. Officers located Hargrove a short time later where he was transported to the city jail.
Christopher Conklin II, 20, of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny, third-degree criminal tampering and unlawful possession of marijuana on Saturday at 3:12 a.m. Jamestown Police officers were dispatched to Utica Street for a report of a male subject going through vehicles. Officers were checking the area when they allegedly came across a male subject going through vehicles, who was identified as Conklin, police said. He had a large amount of loose change in his pants pocket and number of other items. Officers detained Conklin and spoke with a witness who accurately described Conklin as the subject going through the victim's vehicle, police said. He was placed under arrest and transported to the city jail without incident.
Justin Hazelton, 24, of Jamestown was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and criminal impersonation on Saturday at 7:55 a.m. Officers were called to West Fifth Street Jamestown Housing Authority High Rise for a larceny in progress. Upon arrival, officers spoke to a witness who watched a subject stealing aluminum fencing from the location. The subject was located in possession of the property and gave a false name to officers, police said. After a short investigation, the subject was identified as Hazelton and transported to city jail without incident.
Brandon Sorenson, 20, of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property on Sunday at 3:41 p.m. Officers responded to Family Dollar on South Main Street for a report of a shoplifting in progress. Officers located the suspect matching the description a short distance away after leaving the store with stolen items, police said. The suspect was identified as Sorenson, who was taken into custody without incident and transported to the city jail.
Ada Nilka Perdomo Colon, 36, of Jamestown was charged with failure to yield to a traffic control device and driving while intoxicated on Sunday at 2:03 a.m. Jamestown Police officers stopped a vehicle on West Sixth Street for allegedly driving through a red light. The driver was identified as Colon and found to be operating the motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition, police said. She was transported to Jamestown City Jail where she was waiting arraignment.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
LAKEWOOD - Anthony Woods of Jamestown was charged with two counts of petit larceny on Friday at 7:48 p.m. Allegedly Woods exited Wal-Mart with a digital safe without paying. Woods was unable to be located at that time. He then allegedly returned to Wal-Mart later that evening around 7:48 p.m. and selected another digital safe without paying and was apprehended in the Wal-Mart parking lot. He was given an appearance ticket to appear in Busti Court at a later date.
LAKEWOOD - Corina McCreary of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny on Friday at 8:56 p.m. She allegedly exited Wal-Mart with merchandise without paying. She was given an appearance ticket to appear in Busti Court at a later date.
LAKEWOOD - Anthony Spitale of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny, fourth-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree attempted criminal mischief on Friday at 10:45 p.m. Spitale was arrested after he allegedly took merchandise from Wal-Mart without paying. He then fled Wal-Mart and was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. Spitale was charged for fourth-degree criminal mischief for intentionally damaging property belonging to Wal-Mart, as well as attempting to break out a window of a Lakewood-Busti Police car, police said. He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Busti Court at a later date.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
STOCKTON - John McCarthy, 51, of Sinclairville was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher, speed in zone and failure to maintain lane on Friday at 11:48 p.m. Chautauqua County Sheriff deputies stopped a vehicle for allegedly speeding and failing to maintain its traffic lane on Putnam Road in Stockton. Investigation showed McCarthy was intoxicated, police said. He was arrested and later released and is scheduled to appear in Stockton Court next month to answer the charges.
CHARLOTTE - Dyquan Smith, 19, of Dunkirk was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and third-degree unauthorized used and Johnny Torres, 20, of Dunkirk was charged with possession of marijuana on Saturday at 12:40 a.m. Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 60 in Charlotte for inadequate headlights. Deputies allegedly detected the odor of burnt marijuana emanating out of the vehicle. An interview found that Smith was wanted for the above charges and Torres was in possession of marijuana. Smith was arraigned and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail and Torres was issued an appearance ticket.
PORTLAND - Gerald Strobel, 29, of Waterford, Pa. was charged with trespass on Saturday at 12:06 p.m. Deputies responded to Route 5 in Portland to check the well being of a person who called the Sheriff's Office claiming to be stuck in the mud and in need of assistance. Upon arrival, it was learned that Strobel had allegedly driven his car up a private driveway and into a field where his vehicle got stuck. The property was plainly marked with "No Trespassing" signs and Strobel was issued an appearance ticket. He will answer the charge in Portland Court.
CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
OLEAN - Matthew Gross, 25, of Olean was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater, failure to maintain lane and speed not reasonable on Friday at 12:10 a.m. The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop on Dugan Road in Olean. He is due back in Olean Court at a later date.
OLEAN - Kelley Hendryx, 49, of Olean was picked up on a warrant issued out of Olean City Court charging her with third-degree welfare fraud, third-degree grand larceny and four counts of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing. She was arraigned and taken to jail on $5,000 bail. She is accused of receiving $38,119.95 in Medicaid that she was not entitled to from August 2008 to March 2013. She is accused of failing to report her husband's income on her applications she submitted to Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services.
PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE
WARREN, Pa. - A 17-year-old from Warren, Pa. was charged with harassment on Friday at 8:20 a.m. The incident occurred as the 15-year-old victim and accused allegedly entered into a verbal argument in which escalated into a physical altercation at Warren Area High School. The accused then allegedly pushed the victim over a classroom desk and punched the victim additional times in the face.
