Doris E. Bender, 79, of Frewsburg, N.Y., died late Monday, March 24, 2014, at WCA Hospital in Jamestown, N.Y., following a long illness.
Born on Nov. 27, 1934, in Salamanca, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Medford and Grace Ar-buckle Whiteman. She was married to Morgan Kent Fenley who predeceased her in 2013.
Mrs. Bender was a 1953 graduate of Rochester School for the Deaf in Rochester, N.Y.
She had been employed at the Lawyer's Co-Op Publishing Company in Rochester for more than 10 years.
Mrs. Bender was a member of the Southern Tier Deaf Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Moose in Jamestown, N.Y.
She enjoyed dancing and spending time with her grandson.
Surviving are a son, Richard Fenley, of Frewsburg; and a grandson, Thomas John Fenley, Springville, N.Y.
She was predeceased by two sisters: Noel Buck and Geraldine Whiteman; and a brother, Thomas Whiteman.
Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca, N.Y., on Thurs-day from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Lonto, pastor of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salaman-ca, N.Y.
