EAST RANDOLPH, N.Y. - Connie R. Brown, 67, of Main Street, East Randolph, passed away at 9:43 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2014, at the Absolut Center in Salamanca.
She was born Jan. 21, 1947, in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of the late Leo B. and Eulah J. (Milliman) Ormsby.
Connie attended Randolph Central, and was a homemaker and home health care aide in her home. In earlier years, she worked for the former Palmers Cookie Factory in Salamanca, and the Randolph Dimension Corporation.
She was a member of the Randolph American Legion Unit 181 and was a former member of the Randolph Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 2273. Con-nie enjoyed shooting pool, bowling, woodworking and spending time on her computer.
She is survived by her husband, Donald C. Brown, whom she married on Jan. 26, 1963; four sisters: Patricia Gebhardt and husband, Paul, and Darlene Adams and husband, Jim, all of Randolph, Leeann Howard of Kennedy, and Beverly Veith and companion, Albert of Perrysburg; a brother, Kevin Schrader and wife, Debbie of Randolph; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: David Ormsby in 1988 and Dennis Ormsby in 2009; and a sister, Sandy Rhodes in 2009.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Thursday (March 27, 2014), in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Bill McNeil will officiate. A luncheon will be held at 2 p.m. in the Ran-dolph American Legion, 62 Jamestown St., Randolph, prior to the services.
