Frank Robert "Bob" Sphon, of King Road, Clymer, N.Y., passed away March 14, 2014, at his home.
He was born March 10, 1932, in Gowanda, N.Y., the son of the late Frank E. and Lorna Sphon.
Bob was raised in Clymer, N.Y., and graduated from Clymer Central School in 1951. He married Lois J. Jenkins, March 28, 1952. He worked at Peek n' Peak for 30 years and was the French Creek Town Justice for 18 years. Bob was a life member of the Findley Lake Fire Department, member of the Olive Lodge 575 and Valley of Jamestown Consistory. He was also a member of the Cutting Memorial Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; his dog, Roxy; a son, Rodney (Rhonda) Sphon, of Homeworth, Ohio; daughters: Edith (Tom) Wall of Sherman, N.Y., Martha (Joe) Gratto, Findley Lake, N.Y., Debra (Harold) Sanders, Sherman, N.Y., and Lorna (Rick) Bauer, French Creek, N.Y.; two brothers: Harold Sphon, Sherman, N.Y., and Louis (Barbara) Sphon, Bessemer, Ala.; three sisters: Jeanette (Richard) Engdahl, Dewittville, N.Y., Sandy (Gerald) LaCross, Ripley, N.Y., and Linda (Clyde) Morton, Corry, Pa.; and also by 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; four stepgrandsons, one step-great-grandson and two great-great-grandsons.
He was a loving and well-loved husband, father, brother and grandfather.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mable Palmer, Evelyn Neckers, Ethel Mosher, Roy Spoon, Richard Sphon and Ivan Stone.
Friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at the Cutting Community Church, Cutting, N.Y.
Following visitation, a Masonic Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m., with Pastor Rick Maas, of the Cutting Community Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mina Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
