Robert L. Killock of Palmetto, Fla., formerly of South Dayton, N.Y., passed away on March 11, 2014, due to complications caused by cancer.
Bob was born June 12, 1938, to William and Harriet Killock.
A 1956 graduate of Pine Valley Central School, and served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He married Patricia Babcock in 1961.
He is survived by his wife; two children: Kimberly (Rick) Gibson and Rob (Kimberlee) Killock; five grandchildren: Nate and Kaylea Gibson, and Laural, Kaytlyn and Brett Killock; a niece; four nephews; an aunt, Betty Jean Troutman; and many cousins.
Bob retired as superintendent of the Nestle's/ Carnation Company. He served as trustee and mayor of the village of South Dayton for 18 years, and past president of the Western New York Village Mayor's Association. He was a member, past Commander and county adjutant of the American Legion, South Dayton Post 1593. He was also member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 255 in Cherry Creek, a member of the Moose Lodge 2117 in Palmetto, a life member of the South Dayton Fire Department and member of the South Dayton United Methodist Church.
Bob was an avid golfer and a former director of Tri-County Country Club. He served as president and board director of Leisure Lake Co-Op in Palmetto.
Bob enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, hunting with his kids, coaching his son's various sports teams and spending time with family and friends from all over the world.
There will be a celebration of Bob's life on Sunday, March 16, from 2-4 p.m., at the Leisure Lake Clubhouse, in Palmetto. A celebration of his life will be held on a later date in New York.
