Roger Donald Skellie, 84, of North East, Pa., died peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2014, at Twinbrook Medical Center.
He was born on June 13, 1929, in Mina Corners, N.Y., to the late Bert and Ruth Cady Skellie.
Roger was formerly employed at several dairy farms in the Ripley and Mina Corners area, Peek'n Peak Resort, Comfort Inn and Keystone Foods, and was a self-employed lawn mower and snow remover in the North East community.

He was a member of the Brotherhood of St. Joseph, North East American Legion Post 105, North East VFW Post 4789, and the North East and Westfield Moose Lodges.
Roger was well-known for his smile, wit and humor, and loved driving his tracker around North East.
Roger will be missed by all that had the privilege of knowing him ... 10-4.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Edward and James Skellie; and sisters: Alice Tanner and Jean Kochanowski.
Roger will be sadly missed by his loving companion of 25 years, Edithe Whitman of North East; a daughter, Debbie Skellie Thomas of Jamestown; sisters: Joyce Johnson (Donald) of North East, Joan Hodge (Gene) of Clymer and Rose Mead of Erie; stepchildren: Karen Kingman of Erie, Becky Mong (Richard) of North East, Steve Dolan (Cheryl) of East Springfield, Valarie Maloof (Frank) of North East, Virginia Peck (John) of North East, Roger Dolan (Tammy) of Erie and Julie Baldwin (George) of Centerville; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 S. Lake St., North East, on Friday from 1 p.m. until the start of a memorial service at 3 p.m. The Rev. David Kuchta will officiate. Interment will be in Union City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
