Harvey G. Logan, 79, of Heritage Park, formerly of Frewsburg, died, Monday, (March 10, 2014), at Heritage Park, where he had been a resident since July of 2011.
He was born July 24, 1934, in Watertown, N.Y., the son of Charles and Irma Davis Logan.
Harvey was a graduate of Celoron High School.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1953-56 in the guided missile program.
Harvey attended Jamestown Community College, where he earned his degree in applied science in 1973 an associate degree in the science in 1974, and associate degree in art in 1976
Prior to retiring in July of 1996, he had been employed at the former Art Metal and Vac Air Keywell.
He was member of Zion Lutheran Church and its choir, Frewsburg Lions Club, Circling Squares Dance Club, Penn York Dancers, Camper Club, Samuel Derby Post 556 American Legion, Frewsburg, and a former member of the JC's.
Harvey is survived by his wife, Alicia Holmquist Logan, whom he married June 18, 1960; four children: Keith (Cheryl) Logan of Austin, Texas, Craig (Sally) Logan of Phelps, N.Y., Cary Logan of Frewsburg, and Kurt Logan of Duvall, Wash.; four grandchildren: Erin Ruth Logan of Nashville, Tenn., Mark Logan, a student at RIT and Reiker and Kendall Logan of Duvall, Wash.
The family would like to acknowledge their gratitude to the caregivers at Heritage Park for their ex-cellent care and compassion.
He was predeceased by his father in 1992; his mother in 2005; two brothers: Charlie Logan in 2004 and Paul Logan in 1980; and a sister, Margaret Morin in 2008.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, 45 Falconer St., Frewsburg. The Rev. Rebecca Erlech, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.
The family will also receive friends at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church.
