John Bertin Larson Jr., 74, of Lily Dale, N.Y., formerly of Royal Oak, Mich., passed from this life, with family by his side on Feb. 21, 2014, after living with Alzheimer's dementia for several years.
He was the beloved husband of Natalie Larson.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Laurie Lynne Larson in 2007; and his former wife and mother of his children, Sharon Kaye Larson.

He is survived by his brother, Norman Larson of South Carolina; daughter Linda Kaye Larson of Sterling Heights, Mich.; son, John Bertin (Beth) Larson III of Macomb, Mich.; granddaughter, Rachel Larson; several nieces and nephews; stepson, Mark (Alicia) Landy of Winsted, Conn., and their children: Kai, Ella and Brett; and stepdaughter, Trisha (Tom) Rogers of Jamestown, N.C., and their children: Morgan Dahlin and Drew Shetland.
John graduated from the class of 1959 at Royal Oak George A. Dondero High School and attended the Ferris Institute in Big Rapids, Mich., in 1961. He developed many friendships during his life as a volunteer fireman in Troy, Mich., and while working for the U.S. Postal Service in Royal Oak, Mich., and for Piche and Sons in the Royal Oak and Birmingham areas. John also worked for a time at the Fisher Mansion in Michigan. In 1978 he started J.B. Larson Construction Company and blessed many people with his creativity for remodeling and building homes. He was truly a gifted carpenter, and could make and repair everything. He loved sailing, traveling and working as well as singing in the choir at his Lutheran Church in Michigan and in 1994 was ordained a spiritualist minister at Fellowships of the Spirit in Lily Dale, N.Y. He will be missed by many.
A celebration of life and memorial service will be held at Fellowships Lakeside Learning Center, Dale Drive, Cassadaga, N.Y., on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at 1 p.m.
