Shirley A. Bahriak, 72, of Baker Street Estates, formerly of Binghamton, N.Y., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, in WCA Hospital.
She was born March 11, 1941, in Panama, N.Y., the daughter of the late Paul R. and Ruth A. (Smith) Gleason.
Shirley worked at Red Barrel in the Binghamton area for 35 years, retiring as district manager. She enjoyed puzzles.
Surviving are six children: Charlene (Rodney) Gibbs of Ashville, Eugene (Sandra) Stevens of Winston-Salem, N.C., Christine Stevens of Panama, Terri Morris and Constance Stevens, both of Florida, and Tammy Geertgens of Binghamton; 18 grandchildren; Thomas (Kara), Bradley (Samantha), Michelle, Chelsea, Spencer, Robert, Bryant, Tammy, Nichcola, Amanda, Brandon, Toni, Brittni, Brendon, Joseph, Troy, Cory, and Cassandra; 17 great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Helen Summers of Clarksville, Tenn., Patricia (Bill) Smith and Katherine (Frank) Auria, both of Ashville.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angel.
A memorial service will be announced by the family at a later time.
