Dorothy Kelley Bever, 90, a native of Little Valley, N.Y., passed away peacefully at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center, Jamestown, N.Y.
A resident of Little Valley, N.Y., for most of her life, she was born June 5; 1923, in Leon, N.Y., a daughter of the late Clinton Kelley and Joan (Harvey) Kelley. She was the second oldest sibling of Avis (Kelley) Milliman, Wayne Kelley, and Gene Kelley, all of whom have passed.
Dorothy was employed in Little Valley at Merow Hardware and then was employed at the Cattaraugus County building snack bar retiring in the early/mid 1990s.

She will be remembered for her caring, compassionate and humble personality. She was always involved in caring for her grandchildren and took a big part in helping raise them. Dorothy was also an avid painter and photographer and enjoyed having her own dark room in her home.
Surviving are her son, Robert C. Bever of Little Valley, N,Y,, two grand- children: Brett Bever of Little Valley, N.Y., and Kelsey Bever of Brocton N.Y.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the former Charles H. Bever on Feb. 11, 1968, in Tucson, Ariz.
As per her wishes, her body was donated to the University at Buffalo.
There will be no services and the family will attend a private burial at a later date.
