Anna Mae Schroeder, 76, formerly of 156 Whitehill Ave., Jamestown passed away Tuesday (Feb. 25, 2014), in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.
A lifelong area resident, she was born Feb. 20, 1938, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Vincent and Margaret Modica.
She will be remembered as a wonderful wife and loving and caring mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her husband, Terry Schroeder, whom she married Feb. 14, 1990, in Lakewood, N.Y., at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church; a son, Scott (Rhonda) Swanson of Chico, Calif.; two daughters: Deborah Swanson of San Jose, Calif., and Shari Swanson of Jamestown; two step-daughters; Keri Schroeder and Kelly; a son-in-law, John Steves; three grandchildren: Ben and Emily Swanson and Madison Steves; a sister, Nancy (Fran) Remington of Sanford, N.C.; and a brother, Jim (Karen) Modica of Middleburg, Fla.; a niece, Kim Prince of Frewsburg; and a nephew, Bill Jones of Richmond, Va.
Anna Mae worked for Sears from 1985 to 2001, as an office associate. She loved to entertain and enjoyed cooking. She also leaves behind her cat, Rambo, who was devoted to her.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Kimberly Schroeder.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Rick LaDue, pastor of Kidder Memorial United Church, will officiate.
Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
