MOUNT SINAI - Audrey A. Torrey McCord Garnsey, 86, of Mount Sinai, formerly of Sheridan and Maranatha Village of Sebring, Fla., died Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at the home of her daughter.
She was born July 21, 1927, in the town of Charlotte, the daughter of the late Claude H. and Lillian E. Beardsley Torrey.
She was a 1945 graduate of Cassadaga Valley Central School and completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at SUNY Fredonia.

Audrey was employed by Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Electric Cooperative, Pine Valley Central School, Brocton Central School and retired as assistant superintendent for business from Chautauqua County Board of Cooperative Services at Fredonia, in 1983.
Her church memberships included Cherry Creek Baptist and First Baptist Church of Dunkirk, where she served several offices and taught Sunday school.
After moving to Florida in 1983, she was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church, Sebring, Fla. Audrey was also a member of the Benjamin Prescott Chapter DAR of Fredonia.
Wife of 58 years to the late David R. McCord, whom she married July 25, 1945, and who died Dec, 20, 2003, and Bruce N. Garnsey, whom she married Aug, 27, 2005, and who died March 24, 2009; mother of Kenneth D. (Inge) McCord of Hampton, Va., and Janet M. (Richard) D'Angelo of Mt. Sinai; grandmother of Sheila (Craig) Bailey, Jason McCord, Tiffany (Jason) Dicket, Torrey and Caroline D'Angelo; great- grandmother of Madison and Brett Bailey and Miriam and James Dicket.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial in Ross Mills Cemetery.
