LAKEWOOD- Things have been going well for Men's Wearhouse since its grand opening last week.
The grand opening of Men's Wearhouse, located in the Lakewood Village Center at 279 E. Fairmount Ave., went well with lots of people from the community stopping by according to Aaron Unkrich, store manager.
Men's Wearhouse decided to come to Lakewood after noticing a trend in their Buffalo and Erie stores of residents from Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties traveling to shop in their stores.

"We felt there was a very large market here," Unkrich said, noting men usually prefer to shop at local stores and be done with it.
Men's Wearhouse may be known for its suits, but it also sells other men's clothing apparel. Socks, shoes, ties, shirts, jeans - Men's Wearhouse is a one stop shop for men's clothing of any kind and size, Unkrich said.
"Everything a guy could need, we sell something for," he said.
Men's Wearhouse prides itself in keeping to the traditional values of individual care.
"When someone comes in here, we'll get your measurements, show you things in your size and find what you were looking for looking to meet your needs," Unkrich said. He said that Men's Wearhouse wants to establish a lifetime connection with its customers, so they will continue to want to come to Men's Wearhouse for future needs.
Men's Wearhouse also works with schools in a program called "Cash for Schools" where during prom, schools come into the store or go online and sign up so that every senior who rents a tuxedo through Men's Wearhouse will receive a discount, and with each rental, $5 goes back to the school.
"The schools are getting money, the kids are saving money, we're driving business - it's a win all the way around for everybody," Unkrich said. "... We try to give back to the community as much as possible."
Men's Wearhouse started in 1973 in Texas by George Zimmer and his college roommate. In 1981, the stores expanded to California. In 2000, Men's Wearhouse started renting tuxedos in Seattle, Wash. The practice was successful, and by 2002 every Men's Wearhouse rented tuxedos. Also in 2000, FORTUNE Magazine named Men's Wearhouse in its "100 Best Companies to Work for in America." In 2011, Zimmer handed over the CEO title to Douglas Ewert, president and chief operating officer.
