Mary T. Smith, 99, formerly of Falconer, and Davenport, Fla., passed away Thursday (Feb. 13, 2014), in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing.
She was born March 14, 1914, in Austria, the daughter of the late Stephen and Katherine Beck.
Mary was a graduate of Falconer High School, and was employed by Swanson Machine. Prior to retirement, she was employed by The Post-Journal for 28 years, retiring in 1978.

Mary was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society of OLL.
She was also a member of the Jamestown Moose, and enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and baking.
Surviving are her daughter, Evelyn (Joseph) McDonald of Jamestown; a son, Joseph (Jeri) Blaze of Beaver, Pa.; three stepchildren: Kathleen (Bill) Roehm of Jamestown, Joanne (Jerry) Peterson of Jamestown, and Roger J. (Gloria) Smith Jr. of Lakewood; four grandchildren: Christine McDonald, Sharon Easton, Barbara Clayton and Sheryl Boggs; six step-grandchildren: Kimberly Schmatz, Lori Ann Reynolds, William J. Roehm III, John J. Peterson, Jody A. Peterson and Christopher Smith; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Anderson of Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Blaze in 1959; her second husband, Roger J. Smith Sr. in 1987; a sister, Ruby Conti; and two step- grandchildren: Michelle Reynolds and Alana Renee Smith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph Jananczek, will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 p.m. Sunday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Altar and Rosary Society of OLL will conduct a rosary service at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. A Christian Wake service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be donated to the Falconer Library or to Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church.
