Guillermo Martinez, 78, of Jamestown, N.Y., passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at WCA Hospital.
He was born Jan. 16, 1936, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Pedro and Juana Vega Martinez.
He was formerly employed by Fancher Chair Manufacturing and Firch's Bakery prior to his retirement.
He was survived by his lifelong partner of 43 years, Marion Taylor; two daughters: Tina Taylor of Jamestown and Sueann Dietz of Erie, Pa.; two granddaughters: Brittney White and Sierra Smith, both of Jamestown; a great-grandchild, Ayrian Smith of Jamestown; five step-daughters; three stepsons; a brother, Pablo Martinez of Jamestown; and two sisters: Callitia and Carmen, both of Puerto Rico.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Pedro, Valentine and Antionio Martinez, all of Puerto Rico.
A private ceremony for family and friends will be held Feb. 13.
