Serendipity is set to host a Valentine's Day celebration entitled "Songs From The Heart," on Sunday at 4 p.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church
The local female a cappella octet, Serendipity, offers a repertoire of standards that ranges from tunes such as: "Till There Was You," "My Romance," and "Always," to new choral works such as "I Am Not Yours," pop classics including "Kiss the Girl" from The Little Mermaid and The Beatles' hit, "In My Life."
In keeping with the nature of the Valentines Day holiday, Serendipity has invited a group of male singers to join them for a few selections. These special surprise guests are excellent vocalists who will add richness, depth and warmth to the clear and beautiful bell-like tones of Serendipity.
Serendipity is set to host a Valentine’s Day concert at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church on Sunday.
Lance Flower, professional musician and retired music professor from Bob Jones University, will also make a guest appearance to provide piano accompaniment. He is also the father of Serendipity member, Laura Flower Hotchkiss. Other Serendipity members include: Melanie Gritters, Gail Grundstrom, Leslie Hallock, Susan Huther, Cyndi Lorenc, Lissa VanDewark and Carolyn Whitehead.
There is no charge to attend the concert, but a freewill offering will be accepted to benefit Love INC. Love INC's mission states: "mobilize local churches to transform lives and communities in the Name of Christ." It is a charitable, parachurch agency that seeks to help the needy in the Jamestown area.
St. Luke's Episcopal Church is located at 410 N. Main St. Jamestown.
