CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
ELLERY - Jamz Wallis, 24, of Amherst was charged Tuesday with speed not reasonable and prudent and operating out of class. At approximately 8:55 a.m., Wallis lost control of his 2013 Hino Box truck on Route 430 while merging onto the ramp for Interstate 86 west. He reportedly lost control because of unsafe speed and slippery road conditions. The truck struck a small sign, went over an embankment and rolled over onto its side. Wallis was uninjured. Bemus Point Fire Department shut down the ramp for a short period of time as the vehicle was removed. Wallis will appear in Ellery Court at a later date.
HANOVER - Douglas L. Ferry, 54, of Forestville, was charged Friday with DWI, DWI per se, failure to keep right and speed not reasonable. At approximately 9:25 p.m., deputies dispatched to the area of Bennett State Road and Stebbins Road for the report of a vehicle that had gone off the roadway. Upon arrival, deputies located a pickup truck that had rolled onto its passenger side with the operator still belted into the driver's seat. Silver Creek and Hanover Fire departments responded to the scene and assisted the operator out of the vehicle. The driver -Ferry - sustained no injuries. Further investigation revealed that Ferry was intoxicated. Ferry will appear in Hanover Town Court at a later date.
Jessica C. Fulmer, 20, of Fredonia, was charged Monday on bench warrants from Fredonia Court as well as from two other jurisdictions in Erie County. At approximately 11:10 a.m., members of the Fredonia Police, Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and the DEA Clandestine Lab Team executed a search warrant at 13 Washington Ave. The warrant was executed without incident and two residents were found. Agents were able to seize items of evidence that indicated the location was being used to produce methamphetamine. The items seized will be taken to the laboratory for analysis and charges pertaining to the search warrant will be brought after the evidence is analyzed. The search warrant is part of an ongoing investigation into the production and sale of methamphetamine in the northern Chautauqua County area. Fulmer is being held pending her arraignment on the warrant charges.
JAMESTOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT
A 17-year-old female was charged Monday with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. At approximately 6:17 p.m., officers dispatched to Hazzard Street for a larceny of a cellphone. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that the phone was reported stolen from Boces in Ashville earlier in the day. Through investigation, officers located a 17-year-old female at an apartment at 566 Allen St. Officers located the phone in her purse. The teenager was transported to Jamestown City Jail.
Juan A. Velazquez Rodriguez, 35, was charged Tuesday with obstructed view, third-degree aggravated unlicenced operator and fugitive from justice. At approximately 9:06 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed that Rodriguez had an outstanding warrant out of Hillsborough County, Florida for violation of probation on arrests of burglary and cocaine possession.
ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT
Edward A. Christianson, 30, and Shawn M. Garrett, 32, both of Jamestown, were charged on Jan.4 with petit larceny. Officers charged the two individuals after being called to a town business for a reported shoplifting incident. Both men will appear in Ellicott Court at a later date.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
Matthew M. Walters of Randolph was charged Monday with petit larceny. At approximately 8:17 p.m., Walters was stopped by Wa-Mart security for attempting to leave the store with items that were not paid for. Walters will appear in Busti Court at a later date.
Brennan R. Waite, of Randolph, was charged Monday with petit larceny. At approximately 8:17 p.m., Waite was stopped by Wal-Mart security for attempting to leave the store with items that were not paid for. Waite will appear in Busti Court at a later date.
CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
SALAMANCA - Shelly M. Rivas, 33, was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated, driving with .08 percent or higher blood alcohol content and moving from lane unsafely. At approximately 2:34 a.m., Rivas lost control of her vehicle and hit a guard rail at the intersection of Wildwood Avenue and Ellicott Street. Further investigation determined that she was intoxicated. She will appear in Salamanca City Court at a later date.
SALAMANCA - Oswald E. Brown, 20, of Salamanca was charged Thursday with second-degree criminal contempt, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. At approximately 5 p.m., deputies went to charge Brown for second-degree criminal contempt when he reportedly shut the door to prevent his arrest. Brown was later placed in custody without incident. Brown was sent to Cattaraugus County Jail on $1,000 bail.
NEW YORK STATE POLICE
NORTH HARMONY - Mark S. Sonner, 22, of Ashville, was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated. At approximately 3 a.m., state police responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch on Route 391. Upon arrival, troopers noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver and after field tests placed him under arrest for DWI and transported him to State Police Jamestown for processing. Sonner will appear in North Harmony Court at a later date.
POMFRET - Michael A. Orazio, 43 of Falconer, was charged Sunday with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operator, operating a vehicle by an unlicensed driver and failure to notify change of home address. State Police charged Orazio on Route 60 after a computer check showed his license was suspended and expired. Orazio was arraigned at the Town of Pomfret Court where he posted $250 cash bail.
