Gordon L. Carlson, 79, of Orr Street Extension, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, in his home. He was born June 28, 1934, in Jamestown, to the late Harold and Genevieve Carlson. Gordon was a U.S. Army veteran, and prior to his retirement, worked at Hope's Windows. Following his retirement, he was a well-known cab driver in the area for more than 20 years. He was a member of the War Vets Recreation. Surviving are six children: Pamela J. Bowen and Michael Lawson, both of Florida; Linda J. Carlson, Brenda S. Carlson, Justin Miller and Sean M. Carlson, all of Jamestown; several grandchildren; and a brother, Bob Carlson and a sister, Marge Olson, both of Jamestown. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, MaBelle L. Carlson; a son, Steve Carlson; a sister, Carolyn Little; a brother, Norm Carlson; and his companion of many years, Dorothy Capizzi. Interment will be in the Lake View Cemetery, Jamestown.
